Patna : Post raids on Lalu Prasad Yadav, there were heavy demands seeking resignation from Deputy CM Tejasvi Yadav; but the party leaders have now claimed that there is no need for him to resign from the post.

Amid the political turmoil, the RJD is slated to hold a meeting on Monday. Earlier on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) urged the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal (United) to muster courage and compel Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav to step down from his post.

"If Tejaswi Yadav does not resign, my appeal to JD (U) leaders is to mount pressure on Nitish Yadav and get the work done. I will appeal the leader of RJD and JD (U) to show courage and ask Tejaswi Yadav to step down from the post of Deputy Chief Minister," said Modi.

CBI on Friday had conducted raids at Lalu Prasad Yadav's residence for his alleged involvement in corruption via Railway tender allotment. The CBI later questioned Rabri Devi and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav.

The investigative agency also conducted searches at 12 locations across Patna, Delhi, Gurugram and other places.

The RJD supremo, however, refuted the allegations against him and called it a political conspiracy hatched by the BJP.
