Nagpur Boat tragedy: Selfie attempt puts life of 11 men on risk

New Delhi : A boat capsized in Vena river on Sunday with 11 men taking a ride on it. 3 men managed to swim and save their lives while rescue operation has been launched to search the others.

It has been believed that they were trying to take a selfie when boat lost its control and overturned in water.

'2 teams are here for rescue ops. Few boys had come for picnic, they took fishing boat that capsized,' said Suresh Bhoyat, Additl. SP Nagpur Rural.

The men from age group 20-25 were there to celebrate birthday of one of their friends and also did a Facebook live before the accident.

As per latest updates, two boat men and a student were able to save their lives while body of one student has been recovered. 7 are still missing.
