Blast near CRPF school in Delhi, CM Atishi slams Centre over law and order
New Delhi : A loud explosion was seen outside a CRPF school that created panic like situation in Delhiās Rohini on Sunday morning, leading to many security agencies launching investigations in the matter.
While no casualties have been reported so far, the glass windows of nearby shops and several hoardings were shattered and a parked car was damaged by the impact of the explosion.
The police have said that cause behind the explosion was yet to be ascertain but as per initial probe, it looks like a crude bomb.
The explosion in Delhi was registered at around 7:47 AM in northwest neighbourhood. A CCTV footage of the incident has also been recovered.
Residents in the nearby area said that they woke up to a loud blast and suspected it to be a gas cylinder explosion. While some others said that they felt it like an explosion to an earthquake like shock.
According to sources, forensic experts have found a suspicious white powder in their initial investigation outside the CRPF school; They have sent the sample to the laboratory for examinations.
An FIR has been registered under explosive act as Delhi police is investigating the CCTV footage to determine the sequence of event and a certain the causeway of explosion. They are also trying to find out who had planted the bomb.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has lashed out at Centre over the incident and said that the current law and order situation is similar to the days when Mumbai was under the underworld era.
