Build bridges, not walls: Rahul Gandhi to GOI over farmers protest

New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed the government for blocking Delhi borders with nails and barricades so that protesting farmers can be stopped from entering the national capital.

He tweeted - "build bridges, not walls" – with a set of pictures showing how barricades have been placed on the roads and also the nails have been placed on roads to ensure no vehicle is passing the set line.

After violence on the Republic Day, the Delhi Police has increased their security on the Delhi borders and has turned them into fortresses.

Last week, Rahul Gandhi had blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of weakening India by attacking farmers. "PM is weakening India by attacking our farmers and workers. Only anti-national forces will benefit," Mr Gandhi had tweeted.

Meanwhile, the government and the protesters have failed to come to any conclusion after a series of talks as the farmers are adamant that the three new farm laws must be taken back and the government is trying all their ways to ensure them that the new laws are in the favour of the farmers.

The situation has become worse after a section of farmers went to the Red Fort and indulged in violence.
