Caught on camera: COVID patient’s body thrown into river in Balrampur

Balrampur : Recently News Heads had reported that certain bodies of suspected COVID patients were found floating at river shores in different parts of Uttar Pradesh; one such incident has now been caught on camera.

In the viral video on social media, two men in PPE kit can be seen throwing a human body into a river. The man is believed to be a COVID patient.

The incident has been reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district where a body of coronavirus patient was thrown into Rapti River.

A passerby recorded the video of men throwing a human body off the road bridge. Check out the video below:



Meanwhile, the police has identified the victim man as Premnath, a resident of Shohratgadh Siddharathanagar. The man was admitted to a hospital on May 25 after he tested positive for COVID-19, according to the chief medical officer (CMO), Balrampur, Premnath. On May 28, he passed away and his body was handed over to the family members as per COVID protocols.

Balrampur CMO said it was the relatives of the patient who threw his body into the river. Balrampur Police said in a video address on Twitter that a case has been registered over the incident and investigation is underway.
