New Delhi : The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly trying to kiss a woman comuter without her consent. The incident has been captured on a CCTV camera.

The victim woman, who is in her early 20s, was waiting at to board a local train to Ghansoli for work when she was molested by the accused, identified as Naresh K Joshi.

The alert RPF team arrested the man after they spotted him molesting the girl while keeping a watch on the station via CCTV camera.

The incident happened at around 11:25 AM, the culprit was traced and nabbed from a subway near platform number 02/03. 

In the initial interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime; post which he was handed over to Vashi GRP for legal action.

“We have registered a case under IPC section 354 (A) (sexual harassment) and are investigating the matter,” said Krishna Kadam, inspector at Vashi GRP.

Meanwhile, RPF staff earned praise from higher-ups for their quick action. “Sharma and his team showed great presence of mind while carrying out their duty. We have conveyed our appreciation for the same,” said Sachin Bhalode, senior divisional security commissioner of Central Railway.
