CBI Bribery case: All you need to know about meat exporter Moin Qureshi

New Delhi : Moin Akhtar Qureshi is a Rampur-based Indian meat exporter. Qureshi started his meat business from his native village Rampur in Uttar Pradesh in 1993 and went on to become one of the biggest meat exporters in India.He was educated at Dehradun's Doon School and Delhi. St. Stephen's college. 

Qureshi is being probed for allegedly remitting funds through hawala channels to Dubai, London and a few other destinations in Europe. He faces probes by multiple investigating agencies for alleged tax evasion, money laundering and corruption.

Over the years he diversified his business and established some 25 companies which included construction and fashion. His daughter runs a fashion store and is married to a London based chartered accountant Ajit Prasad's son, Arjun.

He owns a farm at Delhi's Chhattarpur, designed by celebrated French architect Jean-Louis Deniot. It featured on the cover of leading design magazine, Elle Decor.

Qureshi claims close ties with at least two former directors of the CBI - AP Singh and Ranjit Sinha. According to the Indian Express, Qureshi exchanged several BBM messages with A P Singh. The BBM messages came under the scanner of the IT and Enforcement Directorate later on.

Last year, Qureshi, who had a lookout notice against him issued by the enforcement directorate in a money laundering case, managed to hoodwink the immigration authorities at the IGI airport to leave for Dubai by showing an unrelated court order.
