CM Mamata Banerjee rides electric scooter to protest against petrol price

Kolkata : To protest against the rising prices of petrol and diesel in India, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday took a ride on electric scooter to her office.

In West Bengal, the petrol is being sold at Rs 91.20 per litre. In some states, the prices have crossed Rs 100 mark.

The TMC supremo had tagged the price hike as political strategy by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government; she claimed that the Centre will reduce the prices only for few days ahead of elections.

“They (BJP) are increasing LPG and diesel prices every day. It is a matter of concern. Central government will only reduce the prices for few days when the elections are round at the corner,” Banerjee said.
