Commercial LPG cylinder prices reduced by Rs 91.5 per cylinder
New Delhi : Ahead of key Assembly Elections, the national oil marketing companies have slashed the prices of commercial LPG cylinders in India by Rs 91.5 per unit, effective from February 1, 2022 onwards. The news came minutes before Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2022-23 in Parliament.
As of February 1, the 19-kg commercial gas cylinder in Delhi costs 1,907; meanwhile the price of non-subsidized (14.2 kg) Indane LPG gas cylinder in Delhi stands at Rs 899.50.
The prices of other domestic LPG cylinders have not been changed.
The rate of cooking gas is revised every month for all states and union territories in India.
On December 1, 2021, the price of the 19 kg LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 100, bringing it to Rs 2,101 in Delhi. This was the second-highest price of the commercial cylinder after 2012-13 when it cost around Rs 2,200 per cylinder.
On January 1, 2022, oil companies had slashed the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 102.50.
