'Conduct detailed and extensive enquiry': PM Narendra Modi on Morbi bridge collapse

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Morbi to review bridge collapse situation; he held a meeting and said that the need of an hour is to conduct detailed and extensive enquiry in the case.

PM Narendra Modi also directed officials and authorities to stay in touch with the affected families and provide all possible help in this moment of tragedy.

Meanwhile, the officials briefed PM Modi about the rescue operation and assistance provided to the affected people in the tragic incident.

Prime Minister said the need of the hour is to conduct a detailed and extensive inquiry which will identify all aspects relating to this mishap. He also added that the key learnings from the inquiry must be implemented at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by CM Bhupendrabhai Patel, MoS Home Harsh Sanghavi, Minister in the Gujarat Government Brijesh Merja, Chief Secretary of Gujarat, State DGP, local Collector, SP,  Inspector General of Police, MLAs and MPs and other officials.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi also paid a visit to the accident site and took stock of the situation.
