Coronavirus 2022: Haryana Government makes masks mandatory in Gurugram and Faridabad

New Delhi : The number of coronavirus cases in India has shown an upward trend in recent days and following this, Haryana Government on Tuesday (April 19) made wearing masks mandatory in Faridabad and Gurugram till further notice.

With the increasing number of fresh coronavirus cases, the authorities have decided to bring back compulsory mask rule in major districts like Sonipat, and Jhajjar too.

The cases have surged dramatically in the national capital as well. More than 500 cases have been logged on consecutive days with a positivity rate of over 7%.

In Haryana, 234 new cases were registered on Monday; 198 cases were reported in Gurugram, while 21 were from Faridabad.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to make wearing masks mandatory in six of its districts - Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, and Baghpat – over the recorded increase in Covid-19 cases in the state.

The sudden increase in the number of coronavirus cases has given rise to speculations of a fourth wave arriving in India. There is no official word on this yet.
