New Delhi : Delhi on Thursday (May 11) registered its biggest single day spike in coronavirus cases with 1,877 new patients coming to light. The total number of coronavirus confirmed cases in the national capital has gone up to 34,000, including 1,085 fatalities.

65 people lost their lives in last 24 hours. There has been a huge difference in death tally of Delhi government and municipal corporations. 

The municipal corporations have reported 2,098 deaths while Delhi government has put the figure at 1,085.

This was the first time when Delhi saw more than 1,800 cases in a day, prior to this the biggest spike was of 1,513 cases on June 3.

The number of patients who have recovered in the last 24 hours is 486. The total number of recoveries stands at 12,731. The number of active cases in the capital is 20,871.

As the coronavirus is rapidly stretching its feet in the national capital, Delhi has marked 200 containment zones.

India, with 2,95,772 coronavirus cases, has now taken the fourth spot in the list of nations worst hit by the highly contagious virus behind US, Brazil and Russia.
