Criminal Gufran, wanted in multiple cases of murder and robbery, shot dead in encounter with Uttar Pradesh police
New Delhi : In a latest encounter in Uttar Pradesh, a wanted criminal named Gufran was shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh Police officials in the Kaushambi district. Gufran, who was the prime suspect in more than 13 cases of murder, attempted murder, and robbery across Pratapgarh and other districts of Uttar Pradesh, had been evading arrest for an extended period.
The Uttar Pradesh Police had placed a substantial bounty of ₹1,00,000 on Gufran's capture, reflecting the severity of the crimes he was accused of committing. Law enforcement agencies had been diligently pursuing him, given the grave threat he posed to public safety.
This incident is the latest in a series of encounters between the Uttar Pradesh Police and notorious criminals. Since Yogi Adityanath assumed office as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the state has witnessed an astounding number of 10,900 encounters. These encounters have resulted in the elimination of over 185 hardened criminals, highlighting the government's unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order.
The encounter with Gufran has once again showed that there is no mercy for the criminals if they are under the UP Police scanner. Such incidents continue to strike fear into the hearts of offenders, conveying a clear message that lawlessness will not be tolerated under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's administration.
