New Delhi : Coronavirus cases in Delhi has shown a sudden surge, hinting mandatory mask rule may return to the national capital after a key meeting of DDMA on April 20.

It is expected that the DDMA may reconsider its earlier decision of removing fines on not wearing masks in public places.

The meeting of DDMA officials has been scheduled for 11 AM on April 20, 2022.

Lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, health minister Satyendar Jain and top officials of the Delhi government will be present.

CM Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said there is no need to panic, the government is keeping a sharp eye on the situation of Delhi.

According to media reports, Delhi government is also planning to shut down schools after a student and a teacher have tested positive for coronavirus.

Currently, there is no official announcement on the same.
