Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to cut driving time by 7 hours: Nitin Gadkari

Mumbai : The government will be building a brand new expressway from Gurugram to Mumbai passing through Gujarat. The project has been scheduled for completion time of three years.

The project will cost about Rs 60,000 crores, said Nitin Gadkari.

According to the plan, the total travelling distance will come down to 1250 Kms from current 1450 kms, bringing down the total travel time to 12 hours. Currently, it takes about 24 hours to reach Mumbai from Delhi by road.

Gadkari said the work on this stretch will start by December and will be completed in the next three years.

“It will be built on the existing alignment up to the Sohna bypass and from there it will be greenfield (new) alignment till Vadodara,” said a highway ministry official.
