Delhi: Rahul Gandhi meets with migrant workers in Sukhdev Vihar

New Delhi : Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday held a brief meeting with the migrant workers who were walking near the Sukhdev Vihar flyover in Delhi, probably trying to walk till their home towns.

Party workers then arranged vehicles for them till their home states.

In the pictures shared online, Rahul Gandhi can be seen sitting on the footpath with the migrant workers, talking about their troubles.

The Congress, however, alleged that the cops later arrested the migrants saying they have orders from the top.

Earlier during the day, Gandhi took to Twitter to condemn the death of 24 migrants that occurred in the Auraiya road accident in Uttar Pradesh. He conveyed his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a fast recovery.

Gandhi also shared a video of migrants walking helplessly on roads in an attempt to reach their native places amid the lockdown.
