New Delhi : The national capital had been dealing with high temperatures in past few days, the temperatures soared up to 49 degrees at some places; but things changed on Friday evening when Delhi saw thunderstorm. The weather department has also issued a warning of strong winds and rain on Saturday evening.

At least 11 flights were diverted on Friday evening due to strong winds. The flights were diverted to Jaipur, Lucknow and Ahmedabad. The airliners included two from Vistara, one Indigo, two AirAsia, two Air India and one GoAir flight. In one of these flight, Cabinet Minister Rajnath Singh was also travelling. 

Yellow Alert for Saturday

The weather department has issued a yellow alert with a prediction of strong winds and light rainfall in many parts. The maximum temperature on Saturday is likely to be around 40 degrees and minimum temperature would be 29 degrees. The rains may continue for next two days, the MeT department said.

Minimum Temperature: 29 degree Celsius
