Demand for restoration of old pension: Amid heavy rain employees raise slogans at Jantar Mantar, warn government

New Delhi : Amid heavy rain in the national capital, employees from Delhi & central government-controlled states gathered at Jantar Mantar to raise their voices and slogans against the government and issued a warning in support of the demand for the restoration of the old pension. Despite the torrential downpour, thousands of government employees stood at Jantar Mantar, urging Prime Minister Modi to restore the old pension and cautioning the government.

This protest, initiated by Dr. Manjeet Singh Patel, regarding the demand for the restoration of the old pension, took place at Jantar Mantar. Approximately 50 employee organizations from Delhi participated in this protest, including the Delhi Nurses Federation, the Central Government Hospitals Nurses Federation, and various teachers' organizations from Delhi. During the demonstration, a warning was given to the government that if the old pension is not restored soon, government employees would vote for the OPS campaign alongside their families in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.From Chandigarh PGI nurses union leader Manjneek Kaur also joined this protest with her team and said that they will stand with this movement till achievement of OPS.

Prominent leaders present at the protest included Leeladhar Ramchandani, Jitendra Ramchandran Moga, Navin Jat, Sudhir, Roop Ji, Pradeep Dagar, Kuldeep Khatri, Akil Akhtar, Dilip Kumar, Vinod Yadav, Kuldeep Kadyan, Satendra Nagar, BC Sharma, Rishipal Tomar, Intak leader Satyavrat Puniya, Baburam Tomar, Dalbir Rathi, Yogesh Ahlawat, and other leaders. The program was organized by Sushant Panna, the National President of the Indian Railway Movement for Old Pension Scheme, and his team. Dr. Manjeet Singh Patel stated that the Indian government has been given a two-month ultimatum to immediately reinstate the old pension for all employees across the country, or the next step would be a march on Parliament.
