DGCA asks Air India to remove 3 officials without delay

New Delhi : Air India has been ordered to terminate three officials over mismanagement of rostering of crew. Also, DGCA has warned Air India to avoid such things in the future.
According to a media report, Air India acknowledged the order and implemented it. In the interim, the company's Chief Operations Officer will provide direct oversight to the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC). The company also mentioned that they are committed to adhere to safety and security protocols.
A show cause notice has also been issued to Air India for allegedly deploying two pilots on Bangalore-London flight surpassing their duty hour limit of 10 hours. They reportedly flew the flight on May 16 and 17.
As per order issued, three officials have been identified who are directly associated to the rostering of crew members; they have been found guilty of allowing lapses in the security. The regulator has directed AI to "remove (these three) from all roles and responsibilities related to crew scheduling and rostering. Internal disciplinary proceedings must be initiated against these officials without delay, and the outcome of such proceedings shall be reported to this office within 10 days from the date of issue of this letter.
