New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday visited Ayodhya to launch the new airport and revamped railway station. During his visit, he addressed a number of devotees outside the Ram Temple.

He urged devotees that they must not plan to come at Ram Temple on January 22. Instead, they should light up a lamp at their homes and celebrate the day like nation celebrates celebrating Diwali.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Maharshi Valmiki Airport in Ayodhya, apart from several other development projects, including the revamped railway station in the district.

With folded hands, PM Narendra Modi urged fans not to plan their visit on the day to Ayodhya’s Ram Temple and disturb Lord Ram. "I humbly request that you refrain from planning to visit the Ram Temple on January 22. Kindly allow the event to unfold, and thereafter, starting from January 23, you are welcome at any time. While everyone wishes to participate, logistical and security constraints make it challenging to accommodate everyone. With a history of waiting for over 550 years, a little more patience is requested," said Prime Minister Modi.

PM Modi suggested that instead of coming to Ayodhya, people can light up a day at their home on January 22.

He also asked people to make Ayodhya one of the cleanest cities in the nation. In his address, he mentioned that Ayodhya will now be hosting lakhs of visitors every month and people of Ayodhya should take an oath to make it the cleanest city in the country.
