New Delhi : Nearly 36 people were left injured on Thursday after eight coaches of Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Mahakaushal Express train derailed near Mahoba station in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened at around 2 a.m. when most of the passengers were sleeping inside the train. Thankfully, no loss of life has been reported so far.

An official of the North Central Railways told IANS that an inquiry has been ordered.

The coaches that derailed included four air-conditioned coaches, one sleeper, two general and one SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake) coach, the official said.

All injured were rushed to hospitals and discharged later.

Following the accident General Manager of North Central Railways and other senior railway officials rushed to the spot.

The train with the rest of the coaches and passengers left from the accident site at 6.45 a.m., the official added.

The routes of few other trains have been diverted till the tracks are completely recovered.
