New Delhi : Breaking news from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir reports that fire broke out a six-storey hotel in Srinagar's busy Regal Chowk. The area is known for good number of private companies and offices. The top floor of the hotel is completely destroyed. Good news is that the fire has been brought under control and no casualty has been reported.

The fire broke out at Hotel Pamposh near Regal Chowk in the heart of the city here, a police official said.

He said the fire started in the attic of the six-storey building and spread fast.

The building houses offices of several news channels.

Sources confirmed that no one was injured or trapped inside the building. The hotel has been evacuated and firemen have stopped fire from spreading across. The accident was a huge one and smoke is still billowing out of the top floor. 

Officials mentioned that five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Police, rescue team and emergency services were trying to douse the flame.

However, the reason for the outbreak of fire is yet to be known. Police are investigating the condition and will soon come up with the answers.  The situation is now stable, though loss of property has been reported.
