Haryana seals borders with Delhi, only essential services to pass

New Delhi : One day after urging the Delhi government to make staying arrangement for Haryana people working in the national capital, the Haryana Government has sealed the borders with Delhi, only essential services will be allowed to pass the border as per Central government order.

“Haryana will be in a comfortable position as far as COVID-19 cases are concerned if the borders stay sealed for 15-20 days,” Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said.

He mentioned that all the essential services and people associated with them will be allowed to pass the border under restrictions issued by the Central government.

Soon after the lockdown was announced in March, the Haryana government had made crossing the border a strict norm.

Yesterday, the minister had said that mostly those people who work in Delhi and stay in Haryana are getting infected, and also those who come into contact with them. And the cases are rising in Haryana because of them, he had added.

He also said that for such people Delhi government must make proper arrangements for their stay.

“It is the responsibility of the Delhi government to make arrangements for their stay and food and also test them and if they are positive, find a cure for them,” he had said.

Meanwhile, he has requested to extend the lockdown to keep the virus contained in the nation.
