Hit-and-run case: 17-year-old mowed down by speeding Mercedes in Delhi
Los Angeles : In recent times, Delhi has become the capital of hit and run cases. Again an incident came to notice on Monday when a 17-year-old was mowed by a speeding Mercedes-Benz in the city.
The incident happened in West Delhi near Paschim Vihar on Monday morning when the boy who was on a scooter was ran over by a Mercedes-Benz.
As per Delhi police, the incident happened when the boy was driving a scooter and was mowed down by a speeding Mercedes which lost control near G Block.
They added that the boy suffered grievous injuries to his head and was rushed to nearest hospital but was declared dead.
The hit was fatal and the collision was such that the boy was flung into the air, according to eyewitnesses.
The driver of the car fled from the spot immediately but the police has begun investigations and are working towards tracking down the accused.
The Delhi Police have also registered a case of death due to negligence.
Notably, this is the second incident of road accident in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, a policeman suffered injuries to his leg after a speeding car him near Vasant Kunj. He was not fatally injured but suffered a fracture after the incident.
