In Rohtak jail, how much Gurmeet Ram Rahim is earning?

Rohtak : Gurmeet Ram Rahim must have not thought that he would end up growing vegetables and trimming trees eight hours daily for a wage of Rs 20 per day in Rohtak jail.

The Dera chief who has millions of followers has been lodged in jail after he was found guilty in two rape cases. The special CBI court had awarded him 20 years in jail and 'pita ji', as many followers used to tag him, has been stamped as prisoner number 1997.

Adjoining his barrack, there is a small plot of land where he will grow vegetables, KP Singh, DGP (jails), Haryana, told reporters in Panchkula.

The vegetables which grown by him will be used in jail's mess for the preparation of food. He comes with a farming background and used to help his father in growing veggies during his young days.

"In jail, he will also prune trees adjoining his barrack. He will get Rs 20 per day for farming work, which falls under the unskilled work category," the DGP (jails) said.
