Indore-Patna train accident: Helpless father fails to save daughter inches away

Kanpur : Indore-Patna train accident may be the worst in last six years, but this tragic tale of a father and daughter will leave you shocked and filled with tears.

Satyendra Singh, lone survivor from B3 coach, pinned down under mangled metal could only hear his daughter’s voice screaming: "Papa, bachao... Koi hai? Please, bachao..." The voice lasted for about 53 minutes and the poor, helpless father could do nothing to save her.

His wife was also somewhere near him in the crushed metal but no signs of life were reported from her end.

After 4 hours of accident he was rescued but, he only got to know about the death of his daughter and wife on Monday.

The Indore-Patna Express had derailed near Kanpur on Sunday morning. The Centre has asked for a high level probe in this.
