Chennai : Touted as superstar alliance in Tamil Nadu, Kamal Haasan has said that he may join hands with Rajinikanth if it is needed for the development of the state. Responding positively, Rajinikanth has also given his approval to the idea; with this speculations took the front seat about them turning the Tamil Nadu assembly elections of 2021 a blockbuster of sorts.

Speaking to the reporters, Kamal Haasan said, "Rajini and I will travel together if there is a need for Tamil Nadu's development. If there is a need for travelling together we will tell. Now, work is important. We can talk about our policies later. We are together for 43 years, we joining together is no miracle".

One hour later, Rajinikanth arrived at the same airport and told reporters, "If there is a situation that requires for the development of the Tamil people, I would join hands with Kamal Haasan".

Recently, Rajinikanth had hinted that he is in favour of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.  He had said, "Attempts are being made to paint me with BJP colour, just like Tiruvalluvar, who's being saffronised. Neither I nor Tiruvalluvar will get trapped".

While, in 2018, Kamal Haasan had launched his own political party Makkal Needhi Maiam. The party is working towards getting some good numbers in the 2021 Assembly Elections.

Rajinikanth, who announced his plans to enter politics in 2017, is yet to launch a party.
