Kerala : A man with the name 'Babu' will never forget last two days of his life when he had a near-death experience while seeking an adventure of hill climbing at an isolated vertical segment of the canyon Malampuzha area in Kerala's Palakkad district.

Stuck at almost 90 degrees climb

Three men started their trek to Cherad hill; two of them gave up halfway and chose to return to the base from where they had started. Babu (the third man) continued his trek seeking an adventure trail. After a long time when no information came from his side, a brief search was conducted. He was later found sitting in the middle of a cliff, sitting on a crack.

The Rescue Operation

After the man was located, the rescue operation was kicked in; but due to an almost 90-degree cliff, the rescue operation faced difficulties despite using helicopters. The Indian Army was then called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to intervene in the case and save the man's life.

The Indian Army has rescued the man, he was stuck on the cliff for almost two days without food and water.

CMO Statement

After the successful rescue operation, the Chief Minister's Office released an official statement claiming that "the worries have been put to rest."

Kerala expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for saving the life of the man.
