New Delhi : On February 5, every year, Pakistan observes Kashmir solidarity day and several companies operating in the nation posted tweets expressing their support on the day. The brands also operate in India, where Kashmir has always been an integral part of the nation, with this a controversy erupted as several Twitter users slammed the multiple brands and demanded an apology.

The incident was escalated to the Indian authorities and summon has been issued against the brand to explain the action that has hurt Indian sentiments attached with Kashmir. Almost each and every brand has deleted the social media posts and also posted an apology claiming that these were done via local distributors and the brands do not believe in such ideology.

What do Brands say after the Kashmir Solidarity posts?

Dominos India: It is a big retail chain in India for tasty pizzas; however the taste got sour with its Pakistan Kasmir Solidarity post. The company has posted an apology and an explanation on Twitter.


Maruti Suzuki:

India's bestseller car company was also seen supporting Kashmir Solidarity Day; but with a strong oppose on Twitter by people, they also posted an explanation.


KFC India: KFC is a retail chain serving fried chicken in India since years. They also posted an explanation.


Pizza Hut:  Like Dominos, Pizza Hut also serves pizzas in India and they also sounded bitter in the tweet supporting Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Hyundai India and Kia Motors: The motor companies which jointly operate in India have also posted an apology for their Pakistani post.


Indian Government Reaction on the matter

The Indian government has strongly condemned the Twitter posts by several brands. "India welcomes investments by foreign brands. But, it also expected that such companies or their affiliates will refrain from false and misleading comments on matters of sovereignty and territorial integrity."
