New Delhi : In an alleged connection to the excise policy case, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal was sent to judicial custody in Tihar jail by Rouse Avenue Court till April 15.

With this Arvind Kejriwal has become the first sitting Chief Minister to be lodged in Tihar jail. According to reports, he has been lodged in jail number 2 of Tihar jail, where he will stay alone in barrack under 24-hours CCTV surveillance.

For those who are not aware, this is the third time when Kejriwal has been taken to Tihar jail. Firstly, he was taken to Tihar jail during a protest led by Anna Hazare. And secondly, he had to pay a visit in 2014 over a defamation case.

According to a media report, Arvind Kejriwal will have to wake up at around 6:30 AM then he will be served breakfast at 6:40 AM which will be a bread slice and tea. For lunch, he can either get chapati or rice with Dal and Sabji. There is also a provision of medical diet, as prescribed by the doctors.

Further, he will have to go back to his cell at noon and stay there till 3:00 PM. After a break, he can meet his lawyers at 4:00 PM. In Tihar jail, dinner gets served at around 6:30 PM which can be taken to the cell. Mr Kejriwal will also be allowed to watch Government channels on TV only.

It has been learned that Mr Kejriwal has also provided a list of 6 people whom he can meet during the imprisonment at Tihar jail.

The Delhi Chief Minister was arrested on March 21 by ED in an alleged case of fraud in excise policy.
