Delhi lockdown cannot stay forever; Kejriwal allows buses, auto, taxis, shops in markets
New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced ease in restrictions during lockdown 4.0. He mentioned that shops in markets can reopen in Delhi and buses, autos and taxis can run with limited passengers. Markets will open on an odd-even basis but shops selling essential items can open every day.
He also mentioned that the lockdown in Delhi has been extended till May 31.
Here is what will be allowed:
- Taxis and cabs with two passengers, maxicabs with four passengers
- Drivers will be responsible for disinfecting before every ride
- Cars can run with two passengers
- Buses will be allowed with 20 passengers only
- Offices will be allowed
- Car pooling and sharing will not be allowed
- Two wheelers cannot have pillion riders
- All markets to open on an odd-even basis
- All standalone shops can open
- Construction activities will be allowed but no workers from outside
- Weddings can be held with 50 people
- Funerals can be held with 20 people only
- Hotels, cinemas, shopping malls, gyms, wwimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls will stay shut
- Social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious gatherings won't be allowed
- Religious places of worship will remain closed
- No religious gatherings will be allowed
- Barbers, spas and salons will stay shut for now
- 7 pm t o 7am curfew will remain, only essential services will be allowed in other times
- Those below 10, above 65, pregnant women and people who have other health conditions won't be allowed to leave home
- Restaurants can reopen but only for home delivery
- Sports complex and stadiums can open, but no crowds will be allowed
- Autorickshaws, e-rickshaws, cycle rickshaws will be allowed with one passenger
