Rampur : A court in Rampur has allowed two women, dating each other, to live together in Uttar Pradesh. One of the girls had gone missing a month ago and was later found in the house of her girlfriend in the Shahbad area of Rampur.

The family had filed missing complaint for the girl in July.

The girl has confirmed to the court that she had been living in the house of her girlfriend willingly. She also noted that she wants to live with her in future as well.

Since both the girls are above 18 and one of them has cleared her willingness to stay together, the two were presented before an executive magistrate who granted them permission to live together, the police said.

Suar circle officer Dharam Singh Marchal said, “After the girl was recovered by the police team, she revealed that she had left home by choice as she wanted to live with her ‘friend’ and not with her family.

“The girl’s family had earlier told police that she is a minor. However, she was found to be in her 20s. The girls showed their high school certificates. One of them is in her early 20s while the other one is a postgraduate student.”

Meanwhile, the families of both women tried to give their counseling, the court told them that they cannot force the girls to live with them or legal action will be initiated.
