Mamata Banerjee hold march against CAA, NRC in Darjeeling

Kolkata : Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday held a protest march in Darjeeling against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the National Population Register (NPR).

During the march, some of her protesters were seen with the banners that read "No NRC", while some of them carried national flags.

Mamata Banerjee has been opposing the law since it has been passed in the Parliament and since then she had been holding events against the CAA and has been continuously protesting against the NRC and NPR.

Mamata Banerjee has assured the residents of West Bengal that they need not to worry about CAA and NRC as she would do every possible thing to not let the law affect people in Bengal.

"Don't worry about CAA and NRC. I am there with you. Nobody will ever dare to touch you. This is our land and I'll assure you that nobody will create a division here," she had said.
