Mann Ki Baat: India proud with USD 400 billion exports

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed 87th edition of his monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat and started with a note on how India has successfully achieved the feat of USD 400 billion worth export.

Earlier, the exports used to be of USD 100 billion, USD 150 billion or a maximum of USD 200 billion; but now we have crossed USD 400 billion mark which signifies many things about India's growth. It is not just an economical figure but it tells how demand of Indian products has increased globally. Also, how efficient the nation has become to cater the supplies.

"When each and every person gets vocal for local then it takes no time for 'local to global'," said PM Modi in his radio speech.

In his address, PM Modi also praised efforts of Phule, Baba Shivanand

Mahatma Phule and Savirtirbai Phule raised their voices for social issues, like female education and female foeticide. We've begun 'Kanya Shiksha Pravesh Utsav' to bring back girls to school who could not complete their education, PM Modi said.

PM Modi also hailed 126-year-old Padma awardee Baba Sivanand for agility and termed his passion for Yoga and dedication for a healthy lifestyle inspirational. Referring to Baba Sivanand's heartwarming gesture at the Padma Awards ceremony, the Prime Minister said that everyone must have observed Baba Sivanand in the recently held Padma Awards ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat is a monthly radio address that is broadcasted on the last Sunday of every month.
