Missing Army jawan from Kulgam traced down in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi : An Indian Army jawan who was presumably been abducted by the terrorists or militants has been traced down by the police.

Police stated on Thursday that they have located a missing Army jawan, Javaid Ahmad Wani, who disappeared from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir last week. Wani, who is stationed in Ladakh, had gone missing on Saturday while on leave in his hometown of Kulgam.

"Missing Army jawan has been recovered by Kulgam Police. Joint interrogation will start shortly after a medical checkup. Further details shall follow," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Kashmir Vijay Kumar said in a tweet.

The police have not revealed any official reason behind the disappearance of the jawan. Also, no militant group or terrorists have come forward to take the claim of the incident.

Javaid Ahmad Wani's disappearance was shrouded in mystery, as he went missing just one day before his scheduled return to the Ladakh base for duty. On the day he went missing, he had gone out for grocery shopping in a nearby city close to his hometown but failed to return home.

During his grocery shopping, Wani had assured his family that he would be back home shortly. However, an hour after his last phone call with his mother, neighbors stumbled upon his abandoned car at a nearby market. Surprisingly, the groceries and his slippers were still inside, but there were also bloodstains on the seat, adding to the intrigue surrounding his disappearance.

With this, it was suspected that he has been abducted by the terrorists and his life may be in danger.
