Delhi : Toyota unveiled the first hybrid Land Cruiser on Wednesday, with plans to sell it in North America and other sizable markets. The business wants to bring back the legendary and high-margin status of this sports utility vehicle. The automaker has said that it will produce both the newest model of the brand, which dates back to 1951, and a more compact model that was just shown. Two Japanese manufacturers will manufacture these vehicles, which will then be exported to a number of different countries.

The forthcoming model will be marketed as a hybrid in the North American market, according to a press statement from Toyota. Toyota intends to release the new Land Cruiser with options for gasoline or diesel in other locations like Europe and Australia. According to the chief technology officer of Toyota, the corporation wants to satisfy customer needs while also lowering overall carbon dioxide emissions. He said they would give customers vehicles that matched their demands.

An expert at the Tokai Tokyo Research Institute, Toyota is more profitable when selling Land Cruiser models and specific other vehicles like the Alphard van. Sugiura asserted that Land Cruisers and Alphards are highly profitable even when sold under the Toyota name, and that this profitability will increase if the vehicles are offered under the Lexus name.

According to Toyota, the new Land Cruiser will debut in Japan during the first half of 2024 before making its way to America in the following spring. The suggested retail price in the US is expected to start around $50,000. Toyota stated its intentions to offer the new Land Cruiser in regions including Western and Eastern Europe and the Middle East with both gasoline and diesel engine options. In addition, a smaller Land Cruiser model will debut in Japan over the winter.
