Mumbai, Pune offices to remain closed till March 31: Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday announced that all public and private workplaces in major cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai and Pune, will remain closed till 31 March. The advisory will be applicable in Mumbai, MMR Region, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Nagpur.
Uddhav Thackeray also urged the people of Maharashtra to ensure that they are not leaving their home unless or until there is an emergency situation.

This is applicable in Mumbai, MMR Region, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Nagpur.

The state government has ordered complete shutdown in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, except essential services and public transport. However, banks will remain open in the state, the CM said.

Till last reports on Friday, Maharashtra had reported 52 positive cases of coronavirus patients.
The latest restrictions have been excluded for shops which are selling essential commodities, Uddhav Thackeray said.
Thackeray said the attendance in government offices will be brought down to 25% from the present 50% on rotation basis as announced earlier.
The Chief Minister ruled out shutting down public transport in Mumbai. The decision to shut down public transport will not be taken as of now, he said.
