New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the people who lost their lives in the Mundka building fire incident on Friday.

"Extremely saddened by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire in Delhi. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I wish the injured a speedy recovery," PM Modi said in a tweet.



According to an update from PMO, the kin of each deceased will be granted a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each.

"Rs 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the fire in Delhi. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," said PM Modi as quoted by the PMO in a tweet.

A massive fire engulfed three-storey building near Mundka metro station; 27 people were confirmed to have lost their lives in the incident. More than 40 people were reported injured.
