New Delhi : Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summon to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and leader Rahul Gandhi to record their statements in money laundering case related to National Herald.

Rahul Gandhi has been asked to visit the agency on Thursday, while Sonia Gandhi has been asked to come on June 8, 2022. Rahul Gandhi is currently not in India and has asked the agency to give a fresh date after June 5.

It must be noted that the Patiala High Court had granted bail on December 19, 2015 to both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the matter.

What Congress has to say?

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi released a statement claiming that Gandhi family will give its full support in the investigations; Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will follow the summon.

BJP on the matter

BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy said that soon a journey from bail to jail will start for Gandhis in the National Herald Case.
