No case of new Covid-19 variant C.1.2 in India so far

New Delhi : In the past 24 hours, India recorded 41,965 cases, as per Health Ministry’s data.

The World Health Organization has said it is monitoring a new coronavirus variant known as “Mu”, which was first identified in Colombia in January. Mu, known scientifically as B.1.621, has been classified as a “variant of interest”, the global health body said.

Himachal Pradesh became the first state in the country to administer the first dose of the vaccine against coronavirus to 100 % of its 18+ population. The health department is looking at completing the second dose of vaccine for all its residents by November end.

Meanwhile the students of classes 9-12 returned to schools after they reopened on Wednesday following a long hiatus due to COVID-19 in Delhi. Some institutions, however, chose to adopt a wait-and-watch approach and have decided to call children for physical classroom studies only after a few weeks.
