Nuh violence: Accused Bittu Bajrangi arrested in Faridabad after dramatic hustle by cops

Faridabad : Two weeks following the Nuh violence that shook Haryana, authorities have arrested Bittu Bajrangi, an alleged key instigator and member of the Bajrang Dal, in Faridabad on Tuesday after a dramatic chase by the police officers. As per media reports, Bittu Bajrangi is suspected of sharing posts on social media ahead of the commencement of the 'Brij Mandal Yatra' to ignite violence. It has also been learned that during the outbreak of violence, Bittu Bajrangi was present at the Bajrang Dal rally and purportedly seized weapons from law enforcement personnel, resulting in his arrest on Tuesday.

In the CCTV footage available online, cops in civil dress and lathi in hand can be seen making a hot pursuit as they arrest Bittu Bajrangi, who was attired in his traditional lungi. Nearly 15-20 cops were seen running after him as the locals observed the scene.



Bittu Bajrangi is alleged of engaging in rioting, violence, making threats, impeding government operations, preventing a government officer from fulfilling their duties, and causing harm with a dangerous weapon. "Following an interrogation, Nuh Police have taken Bittu Bajrangi into custody. A case was filed against Bittu Bajrangi and a group of 15-20 individuals at Thana Sadar Nuh under the Illegal Arms Act. Bittu Bajrangi and the others chanted slogans while wielding weapons like swords in front of a female police officer in Nuh," stated a spokesperson from the Faridabad Police.

The First Information Report (FIR) against Bajrangi and his associates has been lodged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 148 (riots), 149 (unlawful assembly), 332 (causing hurt), 353, 186 (obstructing a public servant from performing their duty), 395, 397 (armed robbery), and 506 (criminal intimidation), in addition to relevant provisions of the Arms Act, as mentioned by the police.

Authorities are actively pursuing the arrest of the other suspects, and they are also keeping a close watch on social media activities. The officials emphasized that stringent measures will be taken against individuals who deliver inflammatory speeches or spread false information.
