On Flipkart, a buyer pays for iPhone 8, receives a detergent bar instead

Mumbai : A 26-year-old software engineer in Mumbai was left in shock when he opened box of his brand new Apple iPhone 8 ordered on Flipkart.

The man received a detergent bar packed inside iPhone 8 box; he has registered a complaint against Flipkart at the Byculla police station in central Mumbai.

Complainant Tabrej Mehaboob Nagrali said that he bought iPhone 8 online and had made full payment of Rs 55,000.

The package was delivered on January 22 at his residence in Panvel. On opening the package he found a detergent bar inside it.

“Nagrali approached us with a complaint yesterday, and an offence of cheating was registered against Flipkart,” Avinash Shingte, senior police inspector at the Byculla police station, said.

Flipkart has ordered an inquiry in the matter and has assured suitable action against the culprit.
