Only ‘Made in India’ products to be sold in CAPF canteens from June 1

New Delhi : A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the citizens to opt for Made in India products over the imported ones; the government has announced that CAPF canteens will be selling only made in India products from June 1.

During his address to the nation on Tuesday evening, PM Narendra Modi said that it is the time when India will have to adopt self-reliance in order to win over the current pandemic crisis.

"When the crisis started then not even a single PPE kit was manufactured in India, only a few N95 masks were available. Today 2 Lakh PPE kits and 2 Lakh N95 masks are manufactured in India daily," he said.

PM Modi also urged the people to use home made products and promote them to make them a global brand. He quoted an example of Khadi products how his one request and nation's support changed the fortunes of it.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India is now nearing 80,000-mark.
