Lucknow : Two days after violence on Republic Day, the local administration in Uttar Pradesh has farmers’ protesters to end their protest and vacate the UP borders by tonight.

The farmers have denied ending their protest, with farmer leader Rakesh Tikait declaring that he is "ready to face bullets" if needed.

He said that the Supreme Court has allowed peaceful sit-ins and there have been no reports of violence from Ghazipur border, but still UP government’s action shows the ill-intentions of the administration.

Meanwhile, there are reports that heavy police force has been deployed at the border and RAPID action force has also been called to vacate the area. The administration has allegedly cut off power and water supply to the hundreds of farmers, who have been camping out on the roads.

The Ghazipur border has been sealed since November 26 when the farmers had announced Delhi Chalo protest.

On January 26, farmers allegedly intruded Delhi borders forcefully and resulted in violence at several places in the national capital. Many political leaders and the Supreme Court condemned the act, following which many arrests have also been made.
