Out from Tihar Jail, P Chidambaram drives straight to Sonia Gandhi's house
New Delhi : Released on bail from judicial custody in Tihar Jail after 106 days, P Chidambaram went straight to Sonia Gandhi's residence in the national capital.
Dressed in his trademark attire – white long shirt paired with a dhoti – he was seen walking out with a smile after a brief meeting with the Congress chief.
"I am happy that the Supreme Court has granted the bail and I am allowed to breath the air of freedom after 106 days," P Chidambaram said.
Moments after stepping out of the Tihar Jail, he said that despite keeping him behind the bars for 106 days, agencies have failed to frame even a single charge against him. He also mentioned that he will be addressing a press conference from the Congress headquarters on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, his son Karti Chidambaram had said that he will be attending the Parliament on Thursday.
After meeting with Sonia Gandhi, P Chidambaram reached his Jor Bagh residence at around 9:30 PM on Wednesday.
According to a report of The Times of India, his staff told them that the former FM will be greeted with his favourite traditional South Indian preparation of chicken and rice.
