Pakistan violates ceasefire in RS Pura, BSF jawan succumbs to injuries
RS Pura : A BSF head constable has succumbed to his injuries received during heavy gunfire after Pakistan tried to violate ceasefire across international border in RS Pura in Jammu district on Monday morning.
An Assistant Sub Inspector and two other soldiers have been reportedly injured in the heavy mortar shelling along the International Border from Suchetgarh sector.
As per several news reports two locals have also been injured in the cross firing incident. Identifying the injured women as Parkasho Devi of Gajanso and Krishna Devi of Treva, sources said that the BSF was retaliating at all the places.
The mortar shelling is believed to be so strong that its voice can be heard at the places located nothing less than 20 kms from the attack site.
People have been advised by soldiers to remain indoor till the time battle is going on.
On Friday night, seven Pakistani rangers were killed by Indian Forces as they tried to slip inside Indian borders amid backup firing by Pakistani army.
Gurnam Singh (26), a BSF jawan injured in a sniper attack on Friday, succumbed in a Jammu hospital last night.
Today's ceasefire violation came within hours of Additional Director General, BSF Arun Kumar's warning that the lull along the border could take "any turn anytime".
