Yadav vs Yadav feud: I am sad at the rift within the party, says Mulayam Singh Yadav

New Delhi : A day after a series of revenge sackings within the Samajwadi Party, SP supremo Mulayam Yadav on Monday chaired a meeting at the party's headquarters in Lucknow and expressed sadness over the rift within his party.

Addressing the party workers, the Samajwadi Party chief said, “I feel really sad because of this rift in our family. Instead of fighting our weaknesses we are fighting amongst ourselves.”

“I am not a weak person, even today. Do not think that the youth is not with me. If you can't face criticism, you can't be a leader,” Mulayam said at the meet.

“Drunkards, goons have been added to the party. You get some power and it goes to your head. Shivpal Yadav is leader of the masses,” added Mulayam Singh while backing his brother Shivpal.

“I will never forget the work Shivpal has done for me and Samajwadi Party, and I won't listen anything against Shivpal and Amar Singh,” further added the SP chief.

What Akhilesh Yadav said:

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav rubbished all the rumours that he will form a ‘new party’ and said that he will always remain with Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In his address to the the SP party workers, UP CM said, "People are saying a new party will be formed. Who is forming this new party? I am not."

"If Netaji had asked me to resign I would have resigned," Akhilesh Yadav further said.

The UP CM also accused people of creating confusion and distance among the senior leadership.

Akhilsh Yadav assured that if someone was conspiring against the party or the party chief then he would initiate action against him.

UP CM also got emotional while addressing the party workers and mentioned how he had fulfilled the promises made by Mulayam Singh.A day after the high-tech political drama of sackings within the Samajwadi Party, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav called for an immediate meeting of MPs, MLAs, MLCs and senior party leaders on Monday to find a mid-way or a solution to resolve the crisis in the party.

What Shivpal Yadav said:

Samajwadi party state president Shivpal Yadav attacked Akhilesh for not giving him due recognition and appreciation for the work done by him.

Hitting hard on Akhilesh, Shivpal said, "Even opponents are appreciating my work and the help offered to everyone."

Further questioning Chief Minister, he said “the UP CM had in fact told him in a close door meeting that he will form another party, I swear that Akhilesh told me. I will form the party and fight election with other parties.”

"We have been beaten by police, have been to jail, pedalled cycles for hundreds of km to bring the party to this situation," he said.

It may be mentioned here that SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav called the meeting a day after Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav sacked his uncle and senior party leader Shivpal Yadav and three of his cabinet ministers.

Irate and upset with Akhilesh's decision, Ram Gopal Yadav, close aide of UP CM was expelled from the party for six years by Shivpal Yadav.

However So far Mulayam decided to maintain silence on the issue and said that he will not speak anything before Monday’s crucial meeting.
