New Delhi : For the first time ever, petrol prices have gone beyond Rs 100-mark in the national capital. On Wednesday, the selling price of petrol was Rs 100.21 per litre.

Diesel price remained at Rs 89.53 per litre.



With this Delhi became the eight capital where petrol is being retailed for more than Rs 100 per litre. The other seven state capitals include Chennai, Bhopal, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Patna and Thiruvananthapuram.

The fuel now costs people in 12 states and UTs over Rs 100 -- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Ladakh, Bihar, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

In Mumbai, petrol breached another psychological mark and is being sold at Rs 105.24 per litre. Diesel has reached Rs 96.72 per litre in India's financial capital.
