New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi subtly criticized the Opposition's choice to boycott the unveiling ceremony of the new Parliament building. After concluding his visit to Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Australia, the PM arrived in Delhi today.

Highlighting a recent community event in Sydney where more than 20,000 people gathered to hear him, PM Modi mentioned that not only was the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, present, but also the former Prime Minister and the entire Opposition, demonstrating their unity for the betterment of their nation.

PM Modi also targeted the Opposition for their questions on COVID vaccine export during the pandemic peak.

"In moments of crisis, they questioned why Modi was providing vaccines to the world. Let us remember, this is the land of Buddha, this is the land of Gandhi! We extend our care even to our enemies, for we are a people driven by compassion!" expressed PM Modi.

The PM is scheduled to inaugurate the new Parliament building on Sunday; however, the Opposition has decided not to be a part of the event. Approximately 20 parties have declared their intention to boycott the inauguration.

According to a statement issued by the opposition parties, "Prime Minister Modi's decision to solely inaugurate the new parliament building, disregarding President Murmu, not only constitutes a severe insult but also directly undermines our democracy... This disrespectful action demeans the esteemed position of the President and goes against the principles and essence of the constitution. It undermines the inclusive spirit that led to the celebration of our first woman Adivasi President."
