New Delhi : At a time when thousands of farmers are protesting alongside Delhi borders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with more than nine crore farmers to make them aware about the financial benefits they would receive from the new farm laws, which were passed by the government a couple of months back.

The interaction of PM Narendra Modi is a part of efforts by the government to combat nearly a month-long protest against the farm laws by thousands of irate farmers and the opposition members.

With a push of a button, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will enable a transfer of Rs 18000 crores to nine crore farmers, ensuring the government's commitment towards welfare of the farmers. During the event, the farmers will also share their experience with PM-KISAN and also on various other initiatives taken by the government.

The event is crucial because it comes at a time when several farmers are protesting against the government at Delhi borders.

Earlier in the day, the protesting farmer unions turned down the government’s offer for another round of talks and alleged that the government’s latest letter for talks is nothing but propaganda against the peasants to create an impression that they are not interested in dialogue and asked it to put the scrapping of the three recent farm laws in the agenda to resume the parley.
